As the global food supply chain becomes more complex, food fraud and counterfeiting has proven to be a significant risk. Fraudulent and counterfeited products places in the marker with the intention of deceiving consumers, for financial gain, may be potentially harmful, when they are of questionable origins, if they are deliberately mis-described or replaced with fillers for bulk or substituting ingredients with chemicals.

Thus, in conjunction with the presentation of the MIFT Product Innovation Award 2015, international speaker John C. Kegoh, President and Principal Advisor at Shantalla Inc., will be sharing his vast experience on strategies which are used to detect fraudulent and counterfeiting activities in the food supply chain.
